At the heart of the Cheshire Neurodivergent Community is a group of passionate individuals who believe in celebrating neurodiversity and creating a space where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. Founded by a team of neurodivergent advocates with lived experience, we are driven by a shared mission to build an inclusive, supportive, and empowering community.
Our incredible Ambassadors—a diverse mix of changemakers, creatives, and professionals—are the glue that holds us together, each bringing their own unique perspectives, skills, and energy to help us thrive. Whether through peer support, advocacy, or simply sharing their journeys, they are the heartbeat of our community, ensuring that no one has to navigate neurodiversity alone.

Through this, and her role as a local councillor she fights for the support of neurodivergent people. In every sense, she is a true champion of champions for the neurodivergent community.

Diagnosed in her 50s, Sheila finally found clarity in understanding herself. As an active member of the group, she is dedicated to raising awareness and expanding support for the neurodivergent community. Since her diagnosis Sheila has gone on to create Wired Differently - The Nuerodiverse Hour a weekly radio show on FM radio.

Diagnosed with ADHD in her 30s, Nade found relief in finally understanding how her mind works. Now a trained ADHD coach, she brings both lived experience and practical tools to the group and is passionate about making sure no one has to figure it all out alone.

Andy is a Mechanical Engineer and business owner. He was formally diagnosed with ADHD in his late 50's, four years after self-diagnosis. "As Neurodivergence continues to be stigmatised, we need to advocate for ourselves and support each other".

After being diagnosed in his late 50s Neill has become a recognised Expert by Experience in the NHS. He is keen to pass on this lifetime of experience and his specialist training to help make the world easier for the neurodivergent community
Our Ambassadors form the committee of Cheshire Neurodivergent Community and are a vital part of everything we do. Chaired by Andy Mellor, the committee meets monthly to share ideas, discuss priorities and help steer the organisation forward.
The committee helps shape our activities, from events and support initiatives to awareness raising, partnerships and community engagement. They bring insight, lived experience and passion, helping us better understand what matters most to neurodivergent people, their families and allies.
Most importantly, the committee ensures that our work is led by the community it is here to support. Their involvement helps us stay inclusive, responsive and rooted in real experiences, so we can continue building a connected, understanding and empowering neurodivergent community across Cheshire.
